Let long that payments are being made as if we all were back in time and not what I considered good medicine to day by our medial community who seems to be the last ones asked anymore of what to be done. Patient and our good doctors seem excluded from the whole process that without us there is no institutions of health care. NO PATIENTS AND NO DOCTORS AND NO HEALTH CARE FOR AN INTERNATIONAL CABAL TO SKIM AND SCAM BY SHUFFLING DATA AROUND MORE THAN PAPER PUSHES EVER PUSHED PAPER.
This hospital, like all others seem so far removed from the modern era it caused discrimination and delay of treatment. and that increases health care costs. I found it ludicrous what occurred here. And more so as it still does not seem to be dealing with an EEOC system that understands modern technology and uses it. The settlement doe not even set up a simple solution for all for the future?

or other means of communication.? Not when common sense has had to be turned over to a micro manager of Lynn Blodgett et al and no one can find out what is going on a there is no internal audit controls of government contractors and no budget either for criminal prosecution since 2002.
This should have never happened to this patient nor to any patient who speaks a language that an interpreter is needed.
Then there is some very modest monetary damages paid to the victim here. BUT HOW ABOUT THE BIGGER ISSUE OF MAKING SURE NO PATIENT GOES WITH OUT MEANS OF COMMUNICATION IN THE FUTURE. How many minutes does it take to have a list of interpreters willing to take a phone call at a moment's notice and be able to make sure the patient's medical needs are taken care of a soon as possible. CMS AND VA AND THROUGH OUT THE GOVERNMENT RIGHT NOW THESE RESOURCES ARE ALREADY ON A VARIETY OF LISTS. Get them complied and set it up. And this does not need to be contracted out, does it? Does the interpreter have to come to the medical facility? They could be thousands of miles away and do what needs to be done, interpret! This should have been done over a decade ago. Why wasn't it? Isn't life and keeping it important to those who we , the people have put in charge of taking care of business. and what is more important business than staying healthy and when sick or injured our medical needs taken care f a quick a possible and get us as healthy as possible again or cured. That is the best way for us as well a lowering health care costs/
In the Bible there is in Ephesians a list of spiritual gifts. One I the gift of administration and its what made the honorable profession of the civil service to serve the people and governments for thousands of years. Governments of all kinds find that a well 'administered government is more fair to all and things run more smoothly when laws are upheld and humanity is cared for when in need.
In the USA, we are the government and its time we begin 'governing.' Vote and try and find out who is does wish to serve us first and foremost. Reelect those who are trying and the rest need to be sent back home and ask someone else to take care of our business for a few years.
And can we get these elections less confusing. We just voted in OK for the presidential primaries a few weeks ago, and now I got my absentee ballot for the rest of the primary offices for 6/28/16.
And I need to check out the choices. In OK there is not write ins . permitted. but that is more of a protest vote, anyway. .
Then with local media often controlled from some mega company far away, we do not have sufficient coverage to know things. The last school board election results were not on the local news etc. and I only found out by going on face book page of the losing candidate who had posted congratulations to the winner there. Its as if the most basic part of the political process , US AND UR VOTES did not seem to matter. The local school board is very important to our future as we send our children off to be mentored by our local schools and its our school boards that give leadership as to how that will be done and its to them we voice our support, praise and criticisms. and concerns,
And if there is any concern of privacy issues, etc.. This list of interpreters could be paid consultants. a simple contract signed with CMS * and maybe a couple of hours of training on confidentiality laws, etc. A nominal fee for a few minutes of time that would have been far less than the damages paid in the civil rights complaint and Monies the hospital spent on attorney's fees also. Until the next patient is harmed and discriminated against and bigger damages might have to be paid.
NO DOCTOR IN CHARGE ANYMORE
CMS is currently not led by a doctor or any other medical professional as it traditionally usually ha been in the past. There is an acting director who used to be a Goldman- Sachs Executive. and new regulations are being put out that do not seem to be promoting good and efficient health care at all. The last thing our doctors and other health care professionals need is to do more social engineering collecting data in order to compete for a tiny bonus to get paid under what is fair and could be fair if the money for data shuffling by unaccountable contractors was going to direct health care. GIVE A BONUS FOR A DOCTOR, ETC. FOR EACH MEDICAID PATIENT THEY AGREE TO TAKE, ETC.
Better yet, pay how it once was done under Medicare by doing a study of what it costs to be in the business of medical services in the area and time and pay what is fair for services rendered for what the patient is treated for and a little extra when there is complications that take longer than usual for the care. . A study that can be more easily done to day with all the technology than it was 50 years ago when an adding machine was considered a high tech office machine.
Our doctors do not need to be MICROMANAGED EVERY TIME THEY TURN AROUND BY PROFIT DRIVEN INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONS!. WHO WENT TO SCHOOL FOR YEARS, WHO HAS HAD HANDS ON PATIENT CARE FOR DECADES. WHO IS THE SCIENTISTS ON THE FRONT LINE OF MEDICINE.
Whose subjective confidence is needed to use all of above to figure out what the medical needs are and what the best treatment should be? If any one needs to be consulted it would seem to logically be another doctor in the field of medicine with more training and experience and good subjective judgment. Not some for profit data shuffler. And I am very fine with a doctor using Skype or a phone to do a consult and our health care system should be paying for that kind of consults, just as they would if I had to wait weeks to see another doctor with delay in treatment that might be taken care of via long distance tech contact in many cases.
I am not a doctor, but I have been a patient of a lot of doctors since injured 1/10/89 and many are/were considered tops in their field.
MEDICINE WORKS BETTER WHEN THE DOCTOR IS IN CHARGE! is my humble opinion.
PEOPLE GET SICK AND INJURED FROM EVERY PART OF THE PLANET.
Patients show up needing medical care speaking every possible language on earth , or are deaf.
WHAT WE NEED IS ADMINISTRATION OF THE ASSETS THIS NATION ALREADY HAS AND OFTEN OUR ASSETS ARE OUR PEOPLE. and a cell phone or tablet.
Yahusha , whom we Christians call Christ Jesus said we have to heal the sick. WHY NOT DO IT THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY POSSIBLE.?
* Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services is now supposed to be in control of all health care in the USA. Its not, its contractors are.
