DAILY RECAP 4/24/16 ADDENDUM: CLINTON PLAN ON STEROIDS PROPOSED?

Obama’s federalization of police grows nationwide see my comment to the article.
Haven't we dealt with this enough already in deadly ways all over the country. It does matter how police and other law enforcement are trained/ back in the Clinton era, every one had a budget crunch and the money came down to train police in taking care of terrorists and more money came in the Bush era also.... Before this, police departments., etc. were asking for monies to handle 'neighbors doing something illegal' and breaking up domestic disputes that got into assaults.  Those they did not usually get as the federal monies was used and  had to emphasize a different method.

Then we had all those war toys from Iraq and sent them out all over the USA so that our police looked like they we were living in an armed camp and rarely were they really needed. or used.?

We also have been a society handing out 'life sentences" to any one who commits a crime that could be a felony.  An 18 year old steals a car and gets a felony conviction and can never get ahead in his life and may not ever had the right of citizenship to vote.

We have to understand that this is not quite fair. Yes, an illegal act occurred. But  shouldn't rights be restored at some point after he or she has served their time? and not gotten in trouble again.

We call our selves Christian for the most part, and other faiths recognize  forms of salvation and redemption.

And some of those who made a wrong turn in their lives might be the ones to turn their lives around and be the best cop for an area where other 18 year olds might be tempted to break the law also and can stop them by example of making wrong choices in life? I am not saying walk out of jail and put on a badge!
But there are many jobs , basically any good job, where one will not get it if one is a convicted felon.  I think this is more fair than employers not being able to ask. as the decision to restore full rights would come from those who had to deal with the individual as a felon to start with. The incentive to turn their lives around is that some day , they will be restored to full rights to choose the legal way to live their life and do much good and be successful as a human being. .
