READY FOR THE CLOUD?
Seems like Spring has come way early and did some light duty cleaning. But overdid it so will be brief, No mail today and which President's birthday is it? None?
Then spent time online researching to be ready to be part of it coming soon and then called Dell to get one question answered. NO NOT THE DATE OF THE RAPTURE BUT THE EARTHLY, HUMAN CREATED CLOUD THAT WE ARE GETTING READY FOR IF WE EXPECT ANY OF OUR COMPUTER SYSTEMS TO FUNCTION SAFELY IN THE FUTURE,
I had one question and pushed the key for sales of computers and asked. Can I buy software for 8.1 and put it in my XP 3 system. Then I'll know what I might buy.
Of course I'd love to spend a couple of thousand and get all I would love to have, but Oxygen tank comes first as no breath +no fingers will need any kind of device to enter the earthly cloud,
She didn't know and transferred me and it was customer service. Long wait. There's a big sale on today, biut it was Windows 7 and have little interest in something already out of fashion. What I was trying to do is step by step upgrade, etc.
Finally the service person looked up my service tag number on computer tower and then wanted to transfer me to tech. They really won't answer much if one has not paid for a service pack. Finally I mentioned thus blog ad how many hits it gets daily and she switched me to her supervisor. Does pay to be a 'journalist' even if I don't get real money from it.I reall have not been concerned re how many, as its that one person that might be able to do something and does motivates me; but it does help...
After a long wait, A nice man came on and did help. He already knew what I had and when it was bought over 7 years ago. He put me on hold and he called tech for me. .
The answer; my sytem is currently only compatible to upgrade to Windows 7 then have to open the tower and do some rebuilding,. A nrew graphics card and other internal hardware. Meaning would need to take it to our computer guy and pay him plus buy the pieces, etc. Plus he already had to repair this when I caught my foot on some wires and it went on the floor and not me. I really want to get rid of as many wires and cords as possible.
So am back to cheapest is get a tablet 8.1 and wait for greater bucks in the bank. Would need to get Microsoft office for old system, too and that'd another charge. and 8/1 tablets come with 365 Office unstalled. So told our loved one living in apt under same roof, all the devices attached to my tower may be headed that way before 4/8/14 when upwards 50% of this world may not have sufficent security on their sytems and much of that is small businesses around the world.
Doomsday scenario if info not secure. You will undersand what I've been through for 25 years with no security paper or digital with regard to my govt files with in the offices or inside their Rothschild subsidiaries. That's not just lack of security.
We kept getting 'teased' on this thinking Microsft would do another security patch as thy've done all along on ther free software and it seems pretty certain its NOT GOING TO BE SAVED.

It seems as if there's a clearance sale on going on Windows 7 and later this year what all really want may be out by Christmas 8.1: 64 bit tablet that can be used for business.
I kept seeing 32 bits in ads and knew that might not be the best for me. plus I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PLUG IN A REAL KEYBOARD AND SOMEHOW SEND MESSAGE TO A PRINTER AND MAYBE HAVE A SPELL CHECK THAT ALWAYS WORKS.
after SPEAKING TO THE SUPERVISOR AT Dell, COULD UNDESTAND THAT WHAT IS NEEDED NOW, ISN' T REALLY THERE ANYMORE, ETC. Why am having some of the current problems.
Plus, last week;1/3 of Yahoo went down even for windows 7 plus VIsta and Yahoo swtched me to another older format, etc...
A lot going on getting geared up for the new era. Congress is way behind. The issues of privacy is really WHO CAN ACCESS as its all going to be out there in the CLOUD. Please get with it and get some laws passed so we can only access what we have a right to get. You want to read a personal e-mail? Go get your court order. I figure nothing us really very private on here, so its out there to read.
Just pray security remains intact on outr financial transactions. My few dollars are precious to me even though they don't go far and why am so intense on figuring out what to get by 4/8/14.
FIRST INSTINCT CORRECT?
So, maybe a cheaper 8.1 tablet then next Fall give that to Doyle and get the 8.1; 64 bit one for me.? . May need to invest in a magnifying glass to see. but much of my time online is research and e mails so will do the best we can.
What's the deal with 8? Online its said the format to use it is very different and wasn't liked so the 8.1 gives one the similar set up like we are used to. It was 6/92, whemn my govt office was one of 11 in the nation that tested Windows in a partnership deal with Microsoft. Not sure I can function without a mouse under my fingers? Some of the 8.1's will work with a mouse so more research to figure out the best thing to do with minimal amount of bucks. But Dell had a real beauty they are selling...way above my price range, got to breathe first, NICE TO DREAM but will be happy just to get somthing that works safely on 4/8/14.
