PROPHETIC SCRIPTURES
The Bible opened to day to I Timothy Chapter 2. For Non Christians you are welcome to read and ponder the general wisdom. The following verse had special meaning. I do personally believe and have been taught that the modest dress for women and behavior is cultural and part of the ministry they had at the time to the world. In out day one might tell one who was going to share others the words of Christ: DON'T DRESS LIKE A HOOKER. WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE!
Few would misunderstand these words in capital letters.. But many, I believe do misunderstand what Paul meant in this chapter. If one chooses to dress and act as Paul writes, that is their free will to do so and that in itself is their witness.
The rest of the chapter, may get overlooked in dealing with a 'dress code ' of the times. But its what had special meaning for me today.
Verses 1-2: "...prayers..for..all who are in authority..."
Verse 4. "...come to the knowledge of Truth.."
Verse 7 "..Truth in Christ.."
Verse 10"..proper ...for professing good works."
Verse 15.".. continue in faith, love and holiness with self-control.
