PROPHETIC SCRIPTURES 2 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 9
Today the Bible opened to 2 Corinthians Chapter 9. For Non- Christians you are welcome to ponder the general wisdom of the words.
The following verses had special meaning for the times and events of my personal life.Others may find different verses and phrases have special meaning for them
Verse 2"...your zeal has sirred up the majority..."
( one impassioned/ motivated leader or group can sway the people one way for the other so quickly. Hopefully and prayerfully for the good and not for evil.)
Verse 7."...God ( Yahuah, Yahusha, Ruah whom Christians call Christ Jesus) loves a cheerful giver."
If one doe snot feel joy in giving, maybe they should not do so, or should not do so until it is filled with joy. This may diverge form what is often taught to support this or that in giving. But too many have given monies and found out it did not go to the right places. Many ask for money and goods and services. One has to allow some discernment as to which of all asking one should respond to.
One is to give to God so He is glorified. Will your gift to a human institution or project do that? If so, your heart will truly be filled with joy and Blessed)
Verse 9"...His righteousness endures forever..."
Verse 13"...glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ.."
Verse 15." Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!"
Love and share and if its done for the Glory of Him , you will be filled with Joy and Blessings of the Spirit.
Most of us only have a smaller amount to share than those of great wealth, we need to be wise and have spiritual guidance in order to know where ones gifts should go. Many very worthy causes are available to share what one has to offer. Giving is a joy when done to glorify Him and is given to those individuals and groups who are walking in righteousness and glorifying the principles of what Christ taught of love and sharing and good over evil. One may find a non religious group actually following those principles better than a few who say they are doing God's work.
Be wise with your dollars and be Blessed in your sharing with others and don't forget to look within ones own extended family or among ones neighbors for need. The joy of sharing may be as simple as: your neighbor is out of work and has no money for their teenager to have a nice dress for a special occasion and you are a skilled seamstress, with a supply of extra material on hand.and the ability to even help teach another to sew for future needs? or some other service that does not take great wealth to give in a way that brings a great joy to many, including ones self. Looking for the opportunity to give expands ones vision of the world and who knows what zeal one may be called to share: a class for teaching sewing skills to those who would also like nice clothes to wear?
Its also allows one to reflect on what gifts one has to share with others. I just offer this one hypothetical example.
Blessings be to the cheerful giver!
