2 John KJV - The elder unto the elect lady and her - Bible Gateway
For years, a Bible is opened at random and a chapter read. Each time through translations often varied and this time the revered 1600's King James Version is used...and is the language of songs and writings of the last few hundred years,,, Other translations are referred to for comparison for fuller meaning of words or phrases as English was not spoken in Christ's first time among us...and does not always fully reflect meaning of them or of cultural changes over time.
There are some who access this blog who are not Christian and that is respected as faith can never be forced and has never worked well when done over human history by one group or another....Not even when its nation on nation...and wars have been fought as people resist taking away their basic FREE WILL of personal thought and FREEDOM..to be free and not forced to give up the most precious of our being created...personal freedom to care and forcing others is the most disrespectful thing one human can do to another...Even if we have to let our legal system stop some from harm being done...as there are limits to freedom...But we also know in our souls, what is fair and just...and the stopping of harms is survival for each of us..and we hope and pray that the few who do not respect will learn to while separated from the people...
And thanks for one of the more positive things accomplished recently of prison reform as we get back to rehabilitation apart from pure vengeance for those willing to change their lives for the better and be respectful members of society... Rehabilitation not of enslavement of ones soul, but freedom that can only come with respect and caring for others... even if one disagrees or does not like each other...
Remember the times that the New Testament was written in...and much more was written we do not have together in one Bible..also…
A Time when spies of Rome and other officials were keeping eyes on this new bunch called Christian and only John survived until old age as the rest of the apostles and many early leaders were executed by local govts and some in Rome under Cesar's'' orders as the faith grew and grew as FREEDOM was promoted and it upset the balance of powers wielded through guilt ridden faith practices and Christ taught only to believe and love one another...plus caring for those who were sick and hungry... Something despots forget to pay attention to when fairness and justice are forgotten as part of any govt or empire to survive without uprisings..
More letters were sent around from the early leaders and Paul even mentions forgeries made up got made to cause trouble and misunderstandings… And to address a letter to any specific person that could be executed or arrested just for being close to Christ... meant the beginning was coded so that only the inner circle that would carry the message would know .
Who was the elect lady and her children and sister.?
Who was the ONE WOMAN CHOSEN SPECIFICALLY BY GOD?
or another later chosen by Christ as the human face of the Divine Love which John is the one who wrote "God is Love" a total of no beginning and no end of Divine that is love and not just love we humans have for one another from friendship on to other forms we humans have in relationships..
The first possible woman this letter was sent to might have been Mary the mother of Christ...from whom He got His human part...And she was chosen and accepted the mission...and so did her fiancé Joseph whom the scriptures and others early writings say had other children after Christ was born in Bethlehem of Judea.. Some say as many as 6 or 7 others children and only some of them named in scripture...James, who became the Bishop of Jerusalem, executed by govt. just before 70Ad and Jude or Joseph Jr as well as Salome, 1/2 sister of Christ and possible wife of John the Apostle married at the wedding of Cana...as well as others unnamed sisters.. as in the culture, women were not named and not even spoken to, let along have any part of faith leadership which Christianity early on began to break down these cultural norms and upset the balance of powers in households all over the known world as women are made from men and have the same desire for freedom and respect and no group has been more enslaved over time, than women....
A change that I have witnessed take place in my own 74 years of life as when I headed off to college, women were still not expected to ever finish after they got their MRS. degree and helped their husbands finish by getting a job...And too often divorces came after wards and things began to change as that was not fair and just at all. and wars depleted the work force and women did not give up their jobs when the men came home from Vietnam and other places. either... Cultural changes that can lead to FREEDOM as some resist giving up some power grabs of the past, when all of us are to respect each other and all be free and lasting relationships are better and last when mutual caring exists.....
So what this second letter of John that got into the Bible is sharing is a warning to watch out for real danger and to know who is going to do harm as what it the nature of those doing harm to believers in Christ that knew Him and would be taken and used as examples of why not to follow Christ for the evils that could be done to them along with death itself..
And John says there are ore than one anti-Christ as John uses that term and those who oppose Christ are of the anti Christ spirit and NOT LET THEM IN YOUR DOOR.... How to be aware of those who say they come to learn about Christ and worship Him and have no intention to do so, but to spy and get names of believers to later arrest or even kill them after forced torture of confessions of not being believers... REAL DANGER and many Christians are going through this right now in parts of the world such as Northern Nigeria with the Boko Haram.. and little is mentioned in main media of them or other parts of the world, where the real horrors of hell on Earth are being done by a small group of those who are being entrapped by real manipulated persuasive tactics to all be anti-Christs...to be ANTI ANYTHING GOOD, FAIR AND JUST AND CARING OF, BY AND FOR ANY GROUP OR FAITH.
That is not as far gone to hatred and destruction as these few among us are...and a few among billions on this planet can do a lot of harm and cause a lot of fear among all when they blatantly go out and maim and kill and riot and all kinds of atrocities used even killing by additions to drugs is part of Satan's plan and no matter what faith they try to say they are part of,,,,its always been such ones who are of he faith of Satan and his dominions all along since Satan first tempted Adam and Eve and we all got expelled out of the innocence of the Garden to struggle against evil since them and at the times when we are almost become OVER COMERS we find ourselves in the worse battle of power over creation ever...LOVE VS HATE -LIFE VS DEATH and we are near the scientific knowledge level its said Adam and Eve were and CREATION itself could come close to non existence by bad choices some may be led to commit...
Christ left us with His Holy Spirit to guide us through the battle....But not all have accepted the way of love, life and peace...The promise from Christ when He left is that He would not let us and creation be destroyed and would return triumphant over the evil minority that now has weapons of mass destruction to use against the majority who would love to get along and respect each others and live in peace as has occurred many times over the ages of varying types of faiths and groups co existing without horrors of hatred and destruction occurring. And as always happens the teachings of Christ will permeate any society or group as they are the teachings of the best of us to "BE BEST" and is what each one wishes to have and be in their own soul and being...
Its why the anti Christ spirit does not wish symbols of any faith be put up in December around the world as the comparison speaks for itself...in basic teachings....despite what one sect or another of any faith can turn it into of more despotism and hatred and exclusion where belief and faith have little to do with the 'human institution of faith." We do a dishonor to Christ when we let those things creep in that do not show love for one another for all being worthy of care, even if we do not agree as we are to be Christlike and He loved the sinner as well as those who tried to 'BE BEST" …
But, we are cautioned by John to be wary of those who mean no good intent from the first appearance at the boundary of our lives, door and nation...and of those who would let them come into our 'space' as they have fallen under the entrapment ,,,to invite...WE CAN SAY NO... and its not easy to care and say no also...but we have to...until we can know and sort out who is who... and the USA is entering into the first time in our history a time when Christianity is in danger by some among us..
And the Roman Catholic Church is being exposed for letting Satan's snakes inside to harm many over the years..
and John warned the believers not to let this happen ...Christ warned all about the 'snakes and vipers' onside the Jewish priesthood of his day...also..and called them such...
Be thankful we still have some semblance of FREEDOM OF RELIGION and one is allowed by our society to walk out the door. or not let someone in that will do real harm among the faithful and to do this to children is the most evil and let it go on for decades or more....Its why we have this first amendment FREEDOM to be able to go form ones own place of faith and follow the teachings without harms being done to one and all.
Unlike Europe where ones baptism into a state church was your citizenship papers, the USA never had such...tied to faith at all.. and forming ones own faith group.. had nothing to do with ones rights as a citizen under our secular laws...
So the ELECT CHOSEN LADY may well have been Mary the mother of Christ and her children and her sister...Or it may have been Mary Madeline that an early Roman document said had married a Roman army surgeon and had children...(did not say if it was Luke the writer of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. ..but maybe? as a lot may be hidden away in the Vatican and other places yet to be discovered as there was a real attempt to hide things that differed from a one world religion being merged with the fertility goddess one and Christianity using Mary mother of Christ as a substitute and making her into an 'eternal virgin' at the time of Constantine..
Maybe it was John's own wife and children and Mary mother of Christ whom Christ took to his own home to care for...and protect...after the crucifixion and a promise made at the foot of the cross.. and IF ROME HAD GOTTEN THEIR HANDS ON MARY.....she need protection more than most as Rome and much of the known world then had faiths based on the FERTILITY GODDESS which is currently being promoted again as the one world faith...and CHRIST IS "THE STONE THAT CRUSHES" any attempt to make it so... .
Mary mother of Christ did have relative as Joseph of Arimathea was supposedly her brother, a rich man with Tin mines in Britain...even . Joseph was from the royal household linage of King David ousted years later and many who lived in the area of Nazareth were this ancient leadership now disposed to other occupiers of the land from Greece to Rome and later the Ottoman Turks...and now the world seems to wish a group created as a group post 1948, to have part of the little left of the original and given by the Divine to Abraham , Isaac and Jacob's descendants maybe even from King David... and if DNA is done...will the Palestinians find out they are of those original tribes also and trying to destroy their own heritage?? SCIENCE MAY HELP BRING PEACE to this world, but we have to stop a few trying to use it for destruction instead first...
Maybe it was Mary and Martha...who were close to Christ and the disciples and John knew well also...? But I go with many scholars in history that it was Mary mother of Christ and her descendants with Joseph and at the time of Constantine and the split of the western and eastern churches....the descendants of Mary and Joseph were real targets for destruction as they naturally became leaders in early Christianity....and historical sources indicate that after the fall of Jerusalem and execution of James 1/2 brother of Christ and Mary and Joseph's oldest son.. and many fled the Roman Empire east and north...
Whomever the ELECT LADY AND children are they needed a letter sent to warn them to be careful and cautious and were not just anyone...of the believers but a woman of real importance to warned of real danger but encoded into teachings of Christ and those causing the danger being of the anti Christ spirit... a warning for our times when we are still called to share our faith, but real enemies exist of Satan's followers who have only power and destruction as their motives...and 'tolerance' of another's faith has no part as its not theirs to control the masses with...
In the name of Yahusha, whom we Christians call Christ Jesus, may we not fall to temptations of one world religion that excludes You as the way to salvation.. Keep us cautious and open to know who does not have any good intent to wish to believe but to destroy...And pray for those who follow such evil that they may know that freedom to care and love one another is the way to real peace of the soul and happiness and joy even in times of real hardship and danger as once and in other times those who believed in You came under real attack and harm...
Save us in this world, as well as for eternity as we keep the faith in You and Your love for us as well as for those who despise You now, but may they repent and accept Love forever also..Amen!
