The article does not 'compute'. CMS gets blamed for all that has occurred. yet they have no control of Part D Medicare. if any there knows they should already be in jail for what has and is going on.
There have been no real internal audits done for years. and all they have is reports filed from the govt contractors and trying to mine data to find anomalies. When they find something, they cannot put it into any real context without what those like me who have been able to discover from our own personal experiences and documents. .
CMS officials are not allowed to do what the patient can do. and few have actually done Medicare investigations or had govt training back in an era when we got excellent and thorough training and did the jobs of stopping all kinds of fraud and mishaps for going on very long or in such high amounts because we did rely on the patients who shared with us what they had or got. we respected them as fellow human beings. NOW THE PATIENT IS OFTEN TREATED LIKE A COMMODITY TO BE DISREGARDED BY THOSE IN CHARGE AS A NUISANCE BY TOO MANY AND OF COURSE THE THIEVES DO NOT LIKE US AT ALL..
CMS gets some reports of deaths directly. But more often the source comes from SSA's cross match with state death records which could be weeks after. YEARS AGO the most cost effective and best incentive to report source got stopped by congress who did not understand how important one small $250 death benefits in multiple agencies and govt levels could be to get benefits stopped when one died. I was still going to work then and Congress would pay no attention to those at SSA who knew we were losing the quickest one to report as often the first money a funeral home got was that $250 if no living with spouse existed. Plus they had verification for us immediately if the ssn they had was accurate. All these checks and balances in the system were well worth the full cooperation of the funeral homes who immediately sent out a brief 1/2 page form to us.
A bottle of pills can be more than that and monies lost to the taxpayer..
In my early years at SSA this system worked better than in our digital IT age and all the stolen ID problems that have grown more than our digital age can keep up with,. "partners" of the govt used to be those rank and file persons involved with the issues like the patients and funeral homes and others who took the responsibility to uphold the laws of the land and help as they could.
We would contact the next of kin, or some Funeral homes had the application forms and while making the initial contacts for the funeral would have the app signed and off to us. as soon as they sat down with the family. we used to have a 5 days from death waiting time before we initiated contacted us sooner we took care of things and it was a quick claim to process and pay. often the Funeral Home made the call with them present to give the info.
Sensitivity and respect on the part of us in the govt was expected and part of the subjective criteria for being hired in the first place at SSA was for us to be ones with that kind of demeanor in the first place along with our test scores and resumes, Congress used to care how we respected the constitutional and civil rights of those from the public doing business with us. It was said to us that we, at SSA, were the 'face' of the govt as often we were the agency all would deal with at one time in their life or another and often multiple times. No other agency was more personally involved with the public and in many ways that has not changed, over the decades.

THEN CONGRESS DEBATED WHETHER TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OR DO AWAY WITH THE SMALL TOKEN PAYMENT. THEY ENDED THE PAYMENT TO ALL BUT THE LIVING WITH OR ENTITLED SPOUSE.
AND IN SO DOING WE LOST THE INCENTIVE TO GET THE NOTICE OF DEATH WITHIN A DAY OR TWO AND GETTING ALL BENEFITS STOPPED.
Since we knew if the SSN was wrong the FH had put on the form , we could get that corrected before the wrong one got on the certified death record and caused deaths not to get back to us through the cross check with the states. as there would be 'no match,'
I've even seen local county officials not to recognize an ssn with a B or D after is not the ssn of the deceased but an ssn of a husband and the letter designates the type.. and that got on a death certificate. Once these things get on that were wrong as its horrendous to correct in all the systems that got the wrong info,
We can't even get co mingled medical records of multiple patients un co mingled when non govt officials have control of the data and no authority to make an official change with appeal rights. etc, out that are causing deaths and harms to patients off the national health insurance data base being used for not only medical histories ad resultant treatment especially in ER;s but medical research that is going to be skewed horrifically ad harm each and every one of us physically and/ or financially. in some way.
Plus we had issues of Date of discharge on a hospital release to be input as date of death also in to the system and caused many of those cases where ones death was not real and cause problems.
Prompt notice gets all benefits stopped promptly and more correctly..
SO when CMS GETS BLAMED FOR STILL PAYING PRESCRIPTION BILLS FOR DEAD PEOPLE; FIRST OF ALL THEY ARE NOT THE MAJOR SOURCE FOR THE DEATH TO BE REPORTED. ITS NOW ACS, AND LOCK HEED MARTIN ETC CABAL OVER AT SOCIAL Security IN MANY WAYS AND MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE ILLEGAL IS GOING ON IF ONLY THE GOVT COULD CHECK IT OUT. TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON TO EVEN CORRECT THE PROCESS.
Then CMS HAS NOTHING TO DO GETTING THE CLAIMS PAID. EXCEPT TO HAVE INITIALLY CONTRACTED THE RESPONSIBILITY OUT TO AFFILIATED COMPUTER SERVICES AND NEVER KNEW WHAT THE PROCESS AND PROCEDURES EVEN WERE TO GET THE JOB DONE. AND FOR 8 YEARS THEY NEVER KNEW TO SEND ANY PAID CLAIMS TO RECOVERY TO GET THE MONEY BACK FOR A PRIMARY PAYER.
THE PUBIC HAS BEEN AND IS GETTING ROBBED AND NO ONE IS IN CHARGE IN THE GOVT AT ALL. THE MONEY IS FAR MORE THAN A FEW PRESCRIPTIONS PAID FOR AFTER DEATH.
CMS WILL NOT GO IN TO A PUBLIC CONGRESSIONAL HEARING AND ASK FOR THE AUTHORITY A BACK AND MONEY TO DO THE JOB THEY MUST DO TO TAKE CARE OF THE PEOPLE;S BUSINESS AND SEE THAT OUR MONIES ARE PROPERLY USED. AND IF CRIMES ARE BEING COMMITTED USE THE LEGAL SYSTEM WE HAVE IN PLACE THAT IS TO PERTAIN TO EACH AND ALL TO STOP THE THEFTS AND CRIMES AND PROSECUTE THE OFFENDERS. WHY NOT? WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE DIRTY DEAL DONE TO ALL OF US BY THOSE WHO HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OF OUR NATION AND OTHER NATIONS AROUND THE WORLD.? AND NO ONE EVEN AWARE OF IT OR WANT TO BE AWARE OF IT AS FACING THIS MEANS WE WOULD HAVE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF AT HOME FIRST AND THAT IS GOING TO TAKE ALL OF US TO DO THIS AND TOO FEW HAVE ACCEPTED THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CITIZENSHIP AD EVEN VOTE AND NOT DOING FOR MANY WHO DON'T HAS VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH SOME RELIGIOUS OR MORAL OBJECTION TO VOTING THOSE WITH FAITH REASONS , I RESPECT AND ASK FOR THEIR PRAYERS AS WE DO TRY TO PICK THE BEST INDIVIDUALS TO STAND UP FOR US,
WHAT IS THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRET IN WASHINGTON , DC OF TURNING OVER THIS NATION IN TO THE MITTS OF AN INTERNATIONAL CABAL AND KEEP PUTTING THEIR SAME PUPPETS OF THAT CABAL IN OFFICE AND WE THE PEOPLE KEEP VOTING FOR THE ONES WHO GO ALONG WITH IT THROUGH ELECTION AFTER ELECTION AND THINK EVERY THING IS OK/ WE TELL THE POLLSTERS THEY ARE NOT DOING THE JOB, YET WE KEEP ON SENDING THE SAME ONES WHO WILL NOT REPRESENT US. The few who do stand up , to this cabal, we do need o support and we need to send other who will help out. WE ALL HAVE THOSE MORAL AND FAITH ISSUES ETC WE HOLD DEAR. BUT THOSE WE SEND OFTEN ARE 'WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING ' AND ARE ONLY LYING TO US TO GET OUR VOTES THAT THEY BELIEVE IN THIS ISSUE OR ANOTHER. WE ARE IMPERFECT HUMANS TRYING TO JUDGE THE HEARTS OF ANOTHER AND CAN ONLY TRY AND DO OUR BEST..
We have to be smarter than we have been.
THE BIGGEST FAULT GOES TO THOSE WHO DO NOT EVEN BOTHER TO VOTE IN ALL ELECTIONS AS THEY HAVE GIVEN AUTHORITY OVER TO THIS CABAL.
without 95% or such a number voting, the rest of us hold no real power of the vote.
Even if we vote for opposing candidates. Its the power of the people even being involved that is causing us to lose all.

We may not all agree on all the issues, but if our monies are being stolen and our rights denied to even exist. then why are we disagreeing on that needing to be stopped?
I almost wrote the title for today. as ACS MEDICATES ZOMBIES IN HONOR OF THE DAY, but MY RESPECT FOR OUR LOVED ONES STOPPED ME FROM DISRESPECTING THEM EVEN IF I AM GRIEVED OVER THE ACTIONS OF ACS ET AL. AND THOSE WHO HAVE LET THEM DO ALL THESE BAD THINGS TO US IN THESE MATTERS. SHAME ON YOU AND HELP STOP IT. BY VOTING AS THE FIRST STEP.
