Daily Recap 3/17/13: Where's The Disc? President Obama Born In Topeka Ks;
Had a bad night coughing and finally fell asleep about 6 Am. Son didn't wake me as he figured I should rest and I slept 8 hours for the first time in days. So glad he didn't. I than went on line and tried to figure things out for myself and decided I was going to have to down load Chrome which I've usually uninstalled over  issues.I thought was occurring between Google and Java. But after all this and deciding to use Xanga to link over or face book would be the easier, I got ready to scan in a photo an hour ago and discovered that somewhere along the way the scanning driver is missing. so have to find the pack of discs and reinsert. So I have several pictures to input and all ready and  My old XP computer isn't ready to do the job./ Of course there are all  those who want me to buy something and one needs money for that.  Son said he;d try and help me tomorrow evening.
I'm glad for the extra rest and am a little better than yesterday. Sleep is a real healer. So will get this figured out one way or another. Rather not borrow someone else's computer  as that just delays the inevitable.
 I'm the type to miss the obvious. Will try again tomorrow.  and will cut this short and get some more rest.
With the right driver installed, should be able to get it on blogger first.
 What seems so simple to others who have been doing this for years, its not the simple for one having to do it for themselves for the first time. Especially one that learns by doing it.
 I also kept running in to something about creating an album in a computer file first, also. then uploading from that. I literally sat down at a computer for the first time in years and began searching for info and then followed some online prompts to set up a web site and then started blogging just following the prompts.
I apologize for the delays as many are curious. and I would like to get into some of those files, also to see what can be learned. In going through the one tub our son got out, I realize I'm looking at pictures in a differnt light re time and place and all kinds of other things other than just looking at ancestors and other loved ones. Like a history detective for clues.
I did some re posting and posted a link a face book Friend sent me on Pres Obama from 2008. Interesting and have no idea if accurate or not. There was an estrangement for several  years and some inferences it was over secretively dealings with govt work., but that was rumors and I was not always privy to everything going on. Yet I knew things others didn't.
In 1/71, President Obama's grandmother arrived with him and introduced him as Barry Seteoro after my other cousin;s wife at Mercer Island had introduced her as this is Marilyn, Dan's wife. referring to Dan Pope the real name. So where did the name Madelyn come form? Lots of mysteries.!
 I really had put a 5/22 wedding picture of my parents in the scanner and sat down to write this after posting the picture first and nothing happened.  Plus a picture from about 1940 of the Hacketts and Popes  and Hardy's  which I think Dan is the small boy sitting on the ground at the front.  And another pic of Helen Pope, President Obama's great grandmother, Dan Pope's mother.
