Did The Catholic Church Invent Islam? | GraceThruFaith No! But by having one doctrine for all it left a void in the area of the mddle east where Islam was born where some had a different concept of Christ  then was being authoized y the Roman church.  And there waere other variance such as Mary being an eternal virgin, etc.. So if they didn;t beleive the same as all the othres, they weren;t part of Christianity and  thus a new religons was born as humans have an innate belief in a power outseide of themselves and it became Islam.  The eastern brach of Christianity had already spit off over the doctrinal didfreernces but their cocept of Chirst was similar to the Roman church.
