'It's Bordering Chaos': $14 Billion in Cargo Stranded at Sea, Crews 'Go Crazy' on Hanjin Ghost Ships | Economy
See my comment to the linked article that could be come the future very fast.
No matter who is elected president of the USA , big economic changes are coming in some way or form.
The whole world has gotten onto a buy and sell train wreck of a path .And for parts of one machine or even food to have to be sent to the other side of the world for any one to have goods or even food to buy is ludicrous as the whole world has needs of many of these goods today.
Good thoughts and prayers for those stranded on the ships who cannot get home.
We are doing commerce and food distribution in this world in a manner that seems the most expensive and makes little sense to this non economist. I do know that food from local areas is fresher and more nutritious just because from growing to table is less time.
Time to use that wisdom and common sense that Yahusha , whom we Christians call Christ Jesus that through him we were created with and figure this out. BUT THERE IS GOING TO BE SOME DISRUPTIONS AS THE CHANGES ARE MADE NO MATTER WHO OR HOW MADE.
We do need to find those among us to help make the policies so that a crew is not stranded on a ship in the middle of the ocean again.
I have seen grocery shelves empty twice in my life. Once in southern California during an elongated truckers strike and another when many farmers did not sell there live stock in another kind of protest movement and there was no meat in that section of the store,
These were free will human decisions of groups that chose to do this and it ended within time as profits got affected too much. These were more localized shortages.
But those goods stranded on ships is going to affect commerce all over the world as these are our Christmas presents according to the article and they well may not arrive on time.
Maybe this is the year when all those who give gifts for Christmas and other faith holidays to focus on more than if one get the latest electronic gizmo or toy. Time to prepare children of the realities of the world and that that one gift they want may not be under the tree and will need to come at a later event next year.
This is another trend that has disrupted life in ways that is not good. The whole world is not going to collapse because some one gift is not there to be bought or had. Maybe an alternative and real surprise can be appreciated and enjoyed. Expectations of instant gratification is not always a good thing for any one, child or adult. Life has issues to be worked through for every one and personal responsibilities to be learned . And he enjoyment of a gift that is a personal made item or some real loving thought go into shopping for a loved one is a thing to be treasured and accepted as the love that is given with the present.
Maybe those lists to send to 'Santa' should have second or third choices on them.
