DAILY RECAP 11/1/15/ CONGRESS STOP POISONING THE PEOPLE: Change FDA's bad policies.

Experts Warn: Yogurt Contains 4 Dangerous Ingredients That Are Not Listed On The Declaration | World Truth.TV  There are a few brands of plain yogurt that are  in most supermarkets. that I have found that seem OK.  Yogurt is a dairy product and much of anything else  listed is AN UNKNOWN ANY MORE.
One can take fresh fruit and add it to yogurt your self. One peeled peach per pint; or several fresh well washed  crushed cherries with pits removed are great also.

Even squeezed orange juice added to plain yogurt makes a great smoothie. Yogurt can be a substitute for milk, another product that can have mysterious additives too. We rely on brand names for the most part, but what brand is best, may vary from area to area? Its matching what one can afford to what one can tolerate.  Again the most expensive, may not be the better one if there are supermarkets in your area that used reduced prices on milk as a come on advertising  to get you in their store. Truly certified organic is expensive.

Sometimes the more expensive is not always the best, is  my opinion.  And being one who is very chemically sensitive, I usually can tell by smell before even tasted.

the height of  ignorance is to add things to yogurt that ends up killing the good bacteria in our bodies that  we need to fight the bad. that make us sick.

But this is the same government and its controllers, who decided that we need no 'police' or need to over see  to take care of  the thieves  stealing our public monies from among our contractors.  And doing it so blatantly just as this articles shares about just one food product we buy for our supermarkets.  Label after label is nearly as bad or even worse. And some is so bad for humans to eat or drink that all kinds of pseudo names get created to hide some of the  worse ingredients. And then, some try to slip in other things and by pass the laws and regulations or lobby to allow bad things to be put in our foods. that nation after nation around the world has banned as their governments decide to look out for the people who have entrusted them to do so for them.

All the more reason to not only buy local when one may even have seen the crops growing but to encourage growing some of your own.

The last time I picked green beans from our garden and sat them in a bowl in  the kitchen the rich aroma of them filled the room as I snapped them for cooking.. Something that is missing usually from even the fresh ones from the supermarket. We don't use pesticides, but grow a companion crop to deter insects. such as marigolds and basil  are a couple of the main ones. and my 'bible' for gardening has always been "Carrots Love Tomatoes' by a woman who lived and grew gardens not far from me. Louise Riotte who must  surely be growing a garden in heaven now. having passed a few years ago.  I keep a copy of her book now in paper back in my garden cart to know what to plant near each other or herb or flower  to help deter bugs who might feast on our food before we get to eat it..  other books are out there and info all over on this. Its what our  ancestors knew and we have often forgotten  or never learned what they knew.
I keep white vinegar around to wash fresh fruit and vegetables with that come from the store  as one never knows how much pesticides have been added  even if one does have organic labeled  ones.

And the changes in the weather have been so drastic in recent years that it has been difficult to know when to plant what. But with food prices going up and what we  have available to buy with less food value and some even harmful for ones health, growing some of what one eats seems to be more necessary then just a hobby anymore.  Adjustments must be made.
This planet has always have cycles and humanity needed to make adjustments for climate changes. Are dirty air and water adding to it? Ask the scientists and get a dialogue of one versus the other. But  it is real  and we are getting drastic warm to cold and back again over the last few years.
So we have several old microwave ovens  stored, for what reason we have never known. ( when one lives in the country ,  and raised by those from the "Depression Era" as both Doyle and I were, then  one does these savings of things for some unknown future purpose. Now  they seem to be a good choice for a cold frame. So  am working on  putting some seeds in pots and setting them inside and with the door closed, the sun can get through,  by sitting them with the door side up. and the unit itself may well be good insulation. Its worth trying.

This is not an expert blog on gardening. Many excellent ones are online and seed catalogues on their also.
But its time to wake up and stop letting ourselves  be poisoned by those in charge of the USA that we never elected. Many are and people are becoming very savvy shoppers. But it like a game of hide the bad chemicals in our food with some of these companies.
Look at the average dinner plate  of food. And realize that nearly every one may have had formaldehyde sprayed or put in every serving and every ingredient in each portion. .   Don't forget even spices may have been sprayed with that and why we try to always get organic. But open the can or jar and one sniff by me usually tells the tale of woe. JUST HOW MANY BAD BUGS NEED TO BE KILLED  IN ONE PLATE OF FOOD. Its like over kill. AND I WASH ALL MEAT UNDER RUNNING WATER IN THE SINK AND THEN WASH THE SINK AFTERWARDS. Why? When the experts say not to ? More chemicals used and the less we eat  of them the better for us? By the time meat gets to us the  bad bugs are dead, or will be cooked dead anyway.
We were created with an immune system that  needs to be allowed to help us. Another reason to grow and buy locally. We have local bacterias and often local immunities, says the scientists. and many say we should buy our honey locally if we can encourage bees to settle in our neighborhoods to help us grow our crops. and have that available. ( again ask the experts, for I am not one, but my 'sniffer' tells me what is safe  for me as it gets inflamed real easily when its not.)
I am no scientific expert, and can only report what I have read and been told and experience .
There was a lot to learn when we moved to southern Oklahoma,  from having gardens in more northern areas of the USA but never here when we spent time in Dallas many years ago.
Rain and more rain in our area and floods to the south of here. with deaths. Some on Yahoo news posted comments to use that new pipeline and send water to California, where many of our garden crops are grown and droughts there for some time, means FOOD FOR ALL MAY NOT BE SO AVAILABLE and time to take a look at a new hobby that might be a necessity for living. One does not need to spend lots of money on fancy pots  etc.  Its good soil and seeds, and try for the heirlooms and older hybrids, and not the newer ones if you can, is what we do. the newer ones is where some 'frankeinstinish' stuff got added to its DNA and its not very digestible. for me  and many others as around the world  nations are banning them. But some of the older hybrids, seem OK for us.  Hybrids are nearly a hundred years old in some varieties before some got creative and decided no bug should be safe eating it and forgot humans  might find then bad to eat ,also
.And for seed, we do not always get organic. Again , money is short and maybe it makes a difference. some what , but  heirloom ( non hybrid) seeds can be saved and one will have ONES OWN ORGANIC. SEED NEXT YEAR.
CONGRESS PLEASE  DON'T  SAY WE CAN'T  save and grown heirloom seeds. As some have tried to say its been proposed. As long as what we grow is food for our home use  and not some illegal plant forbidden to smoke, etc. stay out of our home gardens, please.
And in cities where there is some strict zoning laws. one can mix veggies in among the flowers, for that is true companion planting for the most part. A lot can be hidden behind a nice shrub if one can still get adequate sunlight through the day ..Maybe its time for those local government officials  to ease up a little as they may want some food to eat , too. apartment dwellers, herbs on the window sill with sunlight part of the day is an option.
I advocate only 'legal ones.' Parsley is one of the more nutritious greens and is not just a pretty garnishment. a pot , well tended can last a long time.
It  gets very hot in the Summer time here, so we have our Tomato patch under a big  pin oak tree, that gets morning sun on it but more shade in the after noon when the heat bears down.
GROW WHAT YOU LOVE TO EAT  is a motto I read a long time ago.  and do not remember the author.
HAPPY EATING!
