I've read several versions form differing sources as to what the Pope said today.
I am not Roman Catholic and do not agree with all the specific doctirrnes of their church. But the basic tenants of Christianity as stated int the Apostles creed which is a recap f Peter's sermon at Pentecost is the basics of what a Christian does believe and I have never met a practicing Catholic or any other Christian believer who did not hold to those core beliefs. to do so is to be against the basic iprinciples of the faith.
THERE ARE MANY, LIKE ME WHO BELIEVE WE WELL MAY BE IN THE END TIMES AS PROPHESIED NREVELATION AND OTHER PROPEHETIC PASSAGES OF THE HOLY BIBLE.
And many do have a belief that the Roman Catholic Church will turn us down a wrong path and that the Pope of the later days may well lead us there. There is a religion that comes and it may or may not be followed by those in that church or any other. I pray that Mary mother of Christ is not turned into the 'goddess of the faith fo the mystery religons that had origns in Bablyon.' fertility religons. Its an affront to Mary, the model of obedience to the Almighty to be given that role. It deprives all women, of a model of how one should live their lives.
Its been the temptiaon to do that for 2000 years. and it led to the split in the eastern and western churches as it turned her into an 'eternal virgin ' who had no other childens and denied all the descendants of Joseph and Mary whom many becmae leaders of the early church..APPEASEMENT TO THE CULTURE AND FAITH IN PLACE DOES NOT WORK. One does not have to change tha basics of any culture if it does not go against believeing. Too often it was done, even in the USA with the Navtiive Americans and we lost the basic truths of stewardship of the land over it which they seemd to have a better grasp of respect for nature. And for some other things, those trying to change the culture might have learned also in their arorgance to think one human or group of humans knows it all.Something Christ did speak against a lot ARROGANCE. Something preached against in his letter to the GALATIONS when some leaders did not agree with how one group was conducting their worshp and Paul said to leave them alone.
And for Pope Franis is to get emborlied in civil uinon and differing life styles is a slippery slope. Chirst said"who is my family? its whom, we as adults create it to be. This whole mess started out with NEXT OF KIN RIGHTS and had nothing to do with unions or whom one married . AND THOSE IN MEDICAL SETTTINGS AND AT THE COUNTY MORGUE ARE STILL TOO OFTEN LEFT WITH THAT VERY LEGAL ISSUE AS WE GOT SIDE TRACKED AS SOME WISHED TO BE RECONGIZED AS HAVNG A DIFFERING OPINION WHO COULD BE MARRIED. There are traditional state laws as to who is next of kin, but isn't it somethng every adult should be all to make whether they wish to follow that or if a good friend might not be more of a family than any blood tie.?.
. We are not in agreement in this at all in this world and in the USA and its causing all kinds of splits. I pray we the govt woudld get out of the bedrooms and private homes of consenting adults. Then those of faith who do not agree with certain lifelstyles could disagree but still not discriminate against those who choose a differnent way to live than ones self chooses. The resistance is the forcing of others beliefs on those who sincerely do not agree. We can work with others and be part of the society we all belong to with others without having to be focred to accept another's lifestyle. Its caring about othres even if we do not agree with each other.
As for what Pope Francis may or may not have said or meant:
I have reserved any human judgment until I heard or saw something I did not agree with in the basic of the faith
I am a Christian and do hold to the basics.
Some have reported Pope Francis said that all faiths are true. That would not be something I agreed with. I do think there are common truths in almost all faiths The exception would be a faith that openly worships the Evil One.
And I CONSIDER THE BIBLE IS LITERALLY TRUE BUT THAT PHRASE CAN BE MISUNDERSTOOD ALSO.
I ask the question of all Bible passages: 'How' is it true; not 'if' it is true.
In no way is Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden a 'fable'. I do consider it true but when one starts looking at the words and does even the basics of word studies in the original languages all kinds of understandings can come to the forefront that gives one a more full understanding of the passages.Its why sharing wth others in discussions is often helpful to get differing opinions. or studying what others have said during all of human history. There are 'MYSTERIES' that seem to be beyond our mere human understanding and that why we call it FAITH.
WILL ALL GOOD PEOPLE GO TO HEAVEN?
The Bible says clearing all have to go through Christ to get there/ what does that mean?
Going through is a little different than being a member of a Christian sect and participating weekly in a worship service. I KNOW THERE ARE THOSE WHO WILL DISAGREE WITH MY OPINION. MAY WE STILL LOVE ONE ANOTHER EVEN IF WE DISAGREE. Smeday we are to meet Christ and then its been promised all will be revealed to us.
CHRIST SAID TO BELIEVE IN HIM AND ONE IS SAVED FOR ETERNAL LIFE.
What is one believing in when believing in Christ?
John in his Gospel says Yahuah is love , we call Him God. and in some way still being pondered after 2000 years, Christ was the manifestation of that Love or part of the Holy Trinity of Father Son and Holy Spirit and all are part of the same entity we call Yahusha as Christians say Christ Jesus.
So for 2000 years not all scholars and others who read and pray and ponder such things are in total agreement.
But : the Bible is clear somehow Christ is the way to heaven and and whether that is in this realm of existence or some freedom of choice each soul makes after the last earthly breath, We all may not know until that time comes. The Bible says INTENT is important and we may do things we should not do and still be forgiven. Christ said he went to the Cross so all our sins would be forgiven ahaed of the time most of us were even born. 'HE PAID IT ALL' yet we are not to do bad things as there will be conseuquences for our actions. ITS A HEART THING. and that doesn't fit into a scientific text book very well.
Free will is someting we all were created with and that would not change
MOST WHO STUDY THE BIBLE AND PROPHECY SAY THEIR WILL COME A TIME OF A ONE WORLD RELIGION. ITS SATAN THAT WANTS US TO LOSE OUR INDIVIDUALITY AND ALL BE alke and do as he says we shouLD do. that's enslavement and not freedom..
This would not be something Christ would approve of and it stunts individual freedoms and puts one entity in control saying all must be the same. we aen't and are not intended to be.
We don't have to agree with each other, but we do have to love and care for each other.
IN AND BEHIND A LOT OF THIS IS THE NEW ANCIENT HISTORY OF ALIENS RUNNING AROUND DIRECTING HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND EVEN MESSING WITH OUR GENES.
SOME MAY BE DOING THAT, HUMANS ARE AND ITS NOT JUST TO ENGINEER OUT OF THE DNA SOME HORRIBLE DISEASES THAT ARE HEREDITARY.
THEN FOR YEARS THEY WERE SAYING WE HAD 'JUNK' DNA. OUR CREATOR DID NOT MAKE 'JUNK' WE JUST DIDN'T UNDERSSTAND IT ALL YET. NOW E ARE BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND THERE IS A LOT MORE TO UNDERSTAND AND TO STUDY. JUST AS WE DON'T ALWAYS HAVE FULL UNDERSTANDNG OF WHAT THE PASSAGES IN THE BIBLE MEAN EITHER. SOMETHING IS AMISS WE WERE MADE GOOD IN 'HIS' IMAGE AND THEN WE CHOSE TO NOT FOLLOW THE GOOD AND THINGS GOT CHANGED.. The Bible is a summary. Much of the rest of human history has been lost and we are now trying to figure out what all did happen. I SURMISE THERE ARE SOME WHO KNOW MORE AND HAVE HIDDEN IT AWAY TO USE AS LEVERAGE OVER OTHERS. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AND IT CAN BE GRAVELY MISUESD.
WE HAVE ALMOST SICKENED AND POISONED THE HUMAN RACE WITH ALL THE BAD THINGS WE HAVE DONE AND MESSED WITH THE GENETIC CODE OF THE VERY FOOD WE HAVE TO EAT TO SURVIVE IN THESE BODIES.
I have said it here. If our leaders are 'talking to an alien, they must be talking to a 'demon as death and destruction is all around and it doesn't seem to be ending.
The Bible speaks of 1/3 of heaven's agenls falling from grace and following after Lucifer, or Satan or the evil one. Adam and Eve got tempted into following and the Bible says they had a physical change in their bodies over it. so if one takes the Bible literally, then one should go back and actually read the words and not let any one else say what it means without checking it out for ones self.
The same goes with Pope Framcis, Since he probably did not speak in English , and my fluency in other laneuages is very limited, I don't know what he actually said. I pray he did not say something that went against basic truths of the Christian faith.I'm sure more is going to be siad and we will hear the words said
MEMBERS OF A WHOLE
We are memberS of the human family by birth and by Adam and Eve and I have no doubt two were there in the beginning. what others in ancient times might have messed with , we have lost that knowldge over time. The Bible indicates that ancients did mess around with the human genome and caused a lot of problems.But it also says in the Bible that Christ poured out His spiit on all flesh. So even those who say some of us are 'lizard people', we all can be saved through Christ. This seems to be another slippery slope down the path that some followed in Germany not to many decades ago saying one set of humans were not as good as the others. ALL is ALL. ALL can be saved. BELIEVE IT. Its what we asked to do.
THE GOOD GUYS
The Bible speaks of good angels appearing at times, but they don't seem to interfere with history or some total manipualitons of our free will. except at the times that are recorded in the Bible. and indivdiuals have had perosonal experiences of things that have happeend to them that seem to be some kind of pritective intervention of some sort. I can;t say that what another exeriences did not happen and we are told there are gudardian angels who are watching out for us. But free will can't be controlled. And those wanting all to be under one banner of one religion is going agianst the basic teaching of the faith. if it menas denying Christ and what He is, our Deity in the flesh. What that means has been pondered for centuries , too. But its more than just being a good person as the Bible says he was born of the Holy Spirit. Satan can not create he can only imitate. its a power, the Bible says he does not have nor do we. we can't make someting out of nothing.
ERRORS IN MISISONARY WORK .
Its the very terrible mistake early Christian missionaries made when evangelizing into other cultures and trying to change the basics of the cultures rather than just telling about the Good News of salvation.
The freedom to express how one worships is part of the uniqueness in each of us.
As for good works. Christ siad we can't get to heaven doing that. We will do good things if our hearts are good. And Christ deplored those who did good works nad then were so self righteous they ignored the human misery all arouud in His day.
So we are to care ofor those less fortunate, but in a way that is a hand up and not n enslaving hand out. and we are to go the second mile. if we , as the govt; need to intervene to help, then the end needs to be self sufficiency and independence at the end of the govt help. Our current programs, often do not do that and need to be revised, but in no way offer less help. More help may well be needed up front to not have to provide more later one. many of the principles Christ spoke of are some basic truths of humanity.and are common sense. And just becasue others are not Christians, does not man they do not have good ideas to share and interject into solutions..
BEWARE ANY ONE WHO USES THE WORDD CONTROL OR ALL BE THE SAME./
We are interdependent on each other.Somehow each of us plays a unique part in the whole of humanity and for one to be lost from us, means we are incomplete.
Its late and I am very tired and got into some fumes today, getting some lab work done. So will close, but when I came across this fury going on, had to offer my opinion in all of this. Pray for Pope Francis that he not be persuaded to deter forom the basics of the faith .And that is not the same as how a worship service is done or how the sacrament's are conducted, or what name is one the sign outside of a church. Christ said we when two or three are gathered together in HIS NAME, HE IS WITH US.
I do not consider myself a great Biblical scholar nor fluent in the languages of the original authors of the books of the Bible, the first part of which is the Torah. But I can look at several translations and get a Hebrew and Greek dictionary and try to understand the fuller meaning of specific phrases in the Bible and any one that reads at the basic levels can do this also. We all should do this and not just rely on others to interpret for us. They may have fallen into human error as each of us can. Its why discussions and sharing are important. The internet is great, too as many are sharing their faith on line. Some day, we will have "all truth revealed to us," but in the meantime our FAITH sustains us and keep us on the path of love and life and reisst the one of death and destruction. I pray this Amen.
