Work is not the same as income. and what one is paid may not all count if ones employer is spending money to acocmodate your handicap.
And income paid when you are not working is irrelevant. Be thankful you have an employer with good benefits or you saved your vaction time for a time of great need.
Social Security is not a low income program like Supplemental Security Income is. DOn't trust the info in the media on this as what is being reported, dosn't make legal sense about the truth of the intricacies of the program.
My personal opinion is that either ACS-Xerox, the contractor is now trying to have a complete take over of the entire SSA Adminsitration and not just controlling what part of your file survives as they control the posting of all info. OR
there is an insidious attempt to try and discourage the disabiled from contacting the agancy to see about filing for benefits. Too often, many do qualify and don't file as they mistakenly think they don't qualify when they do.
Our son, got one oxygen tank filled and still laying it down and getting it up, etc. to get oxygen out of it. He took another one we, had, a Helios tank and its not working well. Have to lay it down and then only get part of an hour out of it. But we can fill the hand held ones frm it, but takes a long time. And when layed down Oxygen is coming out from other than the right spot.
So I have two canlulas in my nose: one from a hand held tank and the other from the Puritan Benentt tank which is turned to a lower amount to get about the 2 liters flow out of it. At least it will not be wasted money , completly.
Also , when we got the Puritan Bennet home , the Gorilla tape and Krazy glue on a couple of spots on a hose had broke lose and a loved one helped me get that retaped and glued and seems to be holding . So Krazy glue doens't hold under pressure from the extreme cold of liquid oxygen. The initial smell burns my lungs but once dried, it doesn't bother. Having helpers, helps. minimize exposure.
RHems, the exclusive oxygen supplier in the area is still refusing service ( never checked with health plans We recontacted the complaint dept at Rotech and I also called ther bankruptcy attorney and elft a message with him directly as their vendors attorney gave me the phone number. They tried to call while I was faxing this PM, so will have to wait until Monday and a weekend of loved ones raising and lowering tanks and this is not the activities most families have on the weekends is it?
Due to the exclusivity given one compnay by Medicare for my rural area( Medciare isn't even a primay payer on me) no one else can even sell us a new tank to get it through all the insurances which are approved for life? They are expensive and beyond our fixed and limited income. And assurances have been given by the health plane it would be covered if I go through a medical supplier. How can Medicare sell out our right of life to one company and then they be allwoed to deny you the right to live when approved for life for coverage? Then , even if Medciare isn;t your primary or a covoerage; no one else enters the area either? And my civil rights complaints filed with HHS Dallas never answered as Ralph Rouse the manager is allowed to 'diappear' them. And of course I'll be refiling these as retaliation for prior EEOC acivities as an employee of HHS when injured when SSA was part of HHS, then.Retaliation for getting EEOC sanctions against Sec of HHS, Donna Shalala!
I am so Blessed with having family, but its a hardship on them and hopefully everyone's backs will survive this, in order to help me survive a real DEATH PANEL that no one in the govt cares about. ACS Xerox has years of oxygen claims and not processed one, as ther mananger says they will be paid at Federal workers comp which ACS-Xerox has total control of. Even remand orders from US dept of Labor's appellate judges to process, etc, can't be had by My local owcp office as ACS-Xerox gets it first and file not posted. NO ONE can 'officially ' see them , let alone carry out the orders and govt contractor, ACS-Xerox chooses to defy them. .
You do not wnat them or any other unococuntable govt contrctor taking total control of your Social Security as I have appeals and even Hearing file that they took and disppeared and still have Part B medicare premiums missing over another obsucre provision of the SSA laws that no one seems to want to know about and many , like me, underpaid and due refunds of possible milions.and need to get in front of the judges to ask for subpoenas.ITS SSA jursidcition as it deals with entitlelment factorrs and remand orders for many appeals and other matters filed at lower levels since 2000 and system hacked into to make them disappear.Let alone, my disability decesdon was faud by the acting commissioner of SSA as referred to in the recap posted a couple of days ago on flickr.
The employees seem powerless to do anything to preserve any ones rights, any more since govt contractors have been given total 'immunity' by congress who will not permit monies to be appropriated to investigate crimes by govt contractors. Orders carried out by political appointees who head up the agencies.
Medicare has already had to lower payments to doctors, and hospitals,etc. over the rampant frauds done by their govt contractors and ACS-Xeronx is the one that signs up the medical providers in the first place. And under the new laws, mananges many hospital systems and clincs for states.
One Blessing is I got several months of 60% reimbursement from Federal Blues, when it should have been 100% paid and oxygen delivered instead of my family hauling tanks to the gas company.
I'm exhausted from filing the small tanks and doing some faxing today.
Our cat, the teenager, from the woods who is now grown up was not too happy to have a second oxygen tank replace the table near the air conditioner he likes to lay on much of the time keeping an eye on me while sleeping.
A drought has hit this area of the country and its been at or near 100 degreees and little or no wind to cool things off.
Will it rain when I get my oxygen delivered like others who are approved by their health plans? I had someone ask that question today. I have no control of the weather. I don't even have control of having constitutional rights, any more.
I have not forgetton all of you on facebook and your prayers and good wishes are greatfully accepted in all of this.
The last posting was a recap of a phone converstion and was posted to flickr as I had sent an e- mail and tried for hours to get it printed and finally did by reducing the size then enlarging it. So some progress made, but the wheels of jsutice roll slowly. And those stealing our public monies, must be salivating over the big pot of money that's coming next year to dip into and skim and scam from in the New Health care law. I'm referring to the premium subsidies many will qualify for.
One will get the policy , but the money to help pay for care, is a big pot that may or no may not be used for the intended purpose. Makes Bernie Madoff look like an amateur; what he did. He sits in jall and the bigger crooks are alolwed to roam and steal and cause hardships and deaths and Congress does nothing to see monies go to law enforcment to arrest those crooked govt contractors, which are too often from the 'militay industrial complex' running our health care and other govt programs where lots of money goes hither and thither and does it all go where its intended? No internal sudit controls allowed by Congress, so who knows where our money is?
Got to spell check this with out spell check and hope I can see it.
Need to call eye doctor Monday and make an appt as the last time he indicated further surgery might be needed.
