Little Chilly today. Got a Call back From USDA from a woman who was given a message to send me an e-mail I gave her my e mail address but didn't receive the message. Called back and left her a message and by end of day , no e-mail
She assured me that in no way does USDA allow formaldehyde to be put on meat. It took a lot to get that much out of her. After almost 25 years of living with this, and all the severe exacerbation's and even a decision from Social security that I could not work in  the modenoffice environment after 20 years without  problems, due to all that in the atmosphere, and other chemicals that bother,me;. Plus the clinical testing that says that its the main chemical that irritates to the point of being life threatening if the exposure is not removed, USDA must be in ' dreamland.' At no point was I directed to any way of filing a complaint.
But FDA does allow formaldehyde to be present on spices and there is extensive online documentatio  of this. I don't need to read about it , I can smell it as it burns on certain brands of spices. iIs why we usually go organic for them. This is not just smelling a hot spice , its a chemical burningin sensation that causes inflammation and bleeding and followed by infection if their is bacteria present, which is present everywhere in our world. Most just sneeze it out, but my ability to do that is limited since injured.  One reason cortisone steroid is such an important medication.
Sausage of any kind is full  of spices. She did not  answer my question of whether USDA has any control or oversight  of the meat producers  use of spices  without oversight? I'm assuming the spices have to meet FDA approval? Two agencies and is no one overseeing?
KOSHER is probably the safest way to eat in this world. Maybe Moses and all his dietary restrictions over 3000 years ago, was a prophetic writing about the current days when people no longer produce their own food locally. Many of our fruits and vegetables do not satisfy us , as the nutrient value is not what it used to be, and experts say its due to being picked too young and all kinds of other problems when food has to be transported half way round the world to be eaten.
Doyle had boubht several packages of this and put them in the freezer. He got out another package and washed it well and cooked it. I did not eat it, but I did notice that the smell was not so strong, washed. So how could it be the spices if the chemical washed off so easily? Realistically, we don't have enough inspectors to really know what is going on in our food supply.  Doesn't the USDA know that MSG is formaldehyde in the body? My source is extensive lists prepared by one of my doctors in PA that had done extensive research on this.Like everything else, with all the budget cut backs,so money can be spent on killing each other in this world; (wars) the people are on their own.
The more expensive the brand, the more it will not be bought as people just don't have the money. then it ends up on the sale counter. I don't have to guess about govt stats done by govt contractors and the formulas and raw data not being able to be internally audited. One can just observe what is happening in ones community and grocery and other stores as people don't buy the higher end itemss, choosing to budget by using cheaper brands.
Sen Coburn, apparently is reading , as he is complaining about those on Food stamps buying soda, and other kinds of edibles with little food value. one of the best values is when one could go to the grocery store and see the food labelled WIC, Women and Children food program. One could pretty well rely on that being the food with the best food value and price in the cereal and dairy aisles. This has been a complaint since foodstamps were first issued. But, if one has small children and there is no money for luxury items or movies or any other of those 'fun things' most children get to do; do we begrudge them an occasional piece of candy or a soda? Now that a card is issued instead of the stamps, money is tighter. One on food stamps used to take the extra cash back form the purchase bein  over a dollar but under the next dollar a few coins, for gas money. That's not possible either any more. and Afifiliated Computer Servcies or some other govt contractor is making a lot of money issuing and maintaining those cards, but that doesn't seem to be of concern by any one of either party?
In the mail today, was a bill for another one of those preventaetive package tests listed in my federal HEALTH BENEFITS CONTRACT FROM FEDERAL BLUE CROSS BLUES SHIELD AND HAS NOT BEEN PAID AT 100%. THEY WANT $30|? WHERE IS CONGRESS? when I talked with congressional staff this  week and asked if they were getitng their preventatiive care coverages, they seemed' afraid' and kept saying almost verbatim, that they were satisfied with their health insurance as if scared it could be taken away.  Unlike the civil servant employees in the agencies who said they weren't either getiting the tests done annually  or getting them paid for at 100%. Congressional staff seems to not want to know about this major problem. yet many want to get rid of the health care law for 2014 altogether which we have to do something in this country if we are to retain any kind of our humanity towards each other.
I actually had it thrown up to me that didn't I have Medicare with the Blues to pay it all? In my case that's theft of Medicare , but I can't get  Medicare Part B back ever until this impasse over owcp is ended and that's up to the govt contractor, ACS and whoever is giving illegal orders for last decade?

          Yesterday , I wrote about my mother and I visiting some of my Dad's relatives in western Nebraska, who was wanting to own a photography studio and my Dad loaned some money. He wasn't the only one to do so. My Mother  collected money from my Dad's sisters, too. She was the courier.  It was all in an envelope and I remember some writing on the outside, pretty sure it was the amounts from each. Not sure of the total, but he was able to set up a business and had it many years later, when Aunt Pearl gave my parents a copy of the dubbed family picture from when they were younger , with  my Dad's picture added in when older to make it look like he was the oldest.
Aunt Pearl was another of  Dad's sisters who lived in Iowa. She had been the first of his sisters to marry and she used the same birth date as my Mother all her life.,6/18/1904. She had a baby girl before my parents had children. Her daughter Wilma is the oldest grand child and I am the youngest. Out in eastern Colorado,  many young men used to ride the train out form non wheat states to help at  wheat harvest time. Their crops would be planted and during growing time; they could make some extra money. Employers  were expected to house and feed the extra help. Often it might just be tents and  basic food. Uncle Thomas Vallier was one of those young men. They only knew each other for a couple of weeks and decidedto get married and she go back to Iowa.
 His family has unique history. They had come form Russia in the 1800's to join the Mormon faith as followers of Joseph Smith. One may not  realize that that faith had spread so afar across the world so fast. They actually went by covered wagon to UTAH and when they got there found out that Brigham Young had turned the teachings into something they didn't want to be part of. They came back and settled in Iowa an joined others who wanted to follow the original teachings but not the Utah group. They formed the Reorganized Church of Later Day Saints.  We saw them more than others as Topeka was not so far away. At first they lived in central Iowa and later moved near Council Bluffs in another one of those big white farm house so common though out America in that era. They had several children. There was a lot of heart ache and angst when she left home for so far away. This wsn'tt so uncommon an occurrence, for the young men to end up in the wheat harvest fields and come home with money and.  a wife. One of the multiple stores of  President Bill Clinton;s origins, on my mother's side, was some such occurrence. with a second cousin. that's another family ' mystery' to me.
