BRUSH WITH DEATH last week. Person at gas company broke bone and was gone and also the other person who fills medical oxygen on leave. Doyle headed for another of companies site for a 130+ mile rd trip with tank only for a horrible car accident on road just ahead of him that held him up in traffic, He got there minutes before closing, but no one there knew how to fill this tank. So he came back home. I had filled three hand held ones that Thurs as didn't want to wait to chance things over weekend. There was a few hours left in the tank. Fri headed back for 150 mile rd trip and still no one there could fill the tank so he brought the piece given him by local place to use in filling and Miracles and Blessings as they made a deal on 10 of the green tanks to get by until Monday when one of the employees was to be back. So using these throughout the weekend found Doyle dropping off the empty 41 Liter liquid oxygen tank Mnday AM for our son to pick up later in the day He went to pick up and pay and found the person not back from vacation and came to our home after the men there couldnt't figure out how to fill it. Usually they fill 200+ ones for nursing homes and medical supplier that still goes to them, etc. He headed here to see if any other tank and what to do and my status...?
The other gas company in our area who fills medical liquid oxygen, will not do it for individual patients, only Lincare now owned by Lindegas out of Germany/ The one medical supply co in my area Rotech Rhema has refused service to a me, even though approved for payment for life by three health plans and no good reason ever given to deny me service. Prior supplier was 100% paid but forced out of business in 1/08 along with all the other small companies in USA by the 'big' companies getting a regulation passed that makes no medicalor common sense and those with only a few patients then could not comppte for service areas. FREE MARKET in Medicare et al died in 1/08 and patients have suffered and died from it.Congress?
I told son the one tank that had worked some a few months ago isn't nowe/ I saw 'death' He called ahead for them to get some more green tanks ready and headed back as he had left the tank over there. Prohibitive cost even with 'deal.' But life at stake.
He got back and the men had taken tank to back area building and got it filled and? Whatever was done. its working better than in months. Still has to be lowered at least once a day.
I prefer the green tanks of evaporated liquid oxygen as not so cold. Originally Federal workers comp had me on them and bought tanks.
I've had to use a heating pad with safety cut off switch and lay it on tubing before it gets to me for years since '97 and owcp paid for liquid as cost is cheaper. Or is it with only the big companies alowed to be in the biz? Hearings needed Congress all through medical practices in USA? Not what doctors do, but all the greed going on in those suppling meds and supplies which has gone far astray all over and in areas I am not concerned with as patient but am aware of.
OXYGEN PATIENTS NOT GETTING PRESCIBED OXYGEN?
Oxygen concentrators guve off ozone and only makes a NON theapeutic dose of 94% oxygen ( read the technical info out there) + my doctors have said this. But its the bst to be done for pwatients as they have no control of patients getting scripts filled. I am among the minority group of patients with super sensitivity to irrirtants inflame at a deadly result even in parts per billion. Parts per milliom are considered OK by govt for everyone else.. But how could anyone be helped with an irritant gas being sucked back into the 6% of non oxygen patients breathe?
Liquid oxygen is 99%+ pure oxygen and is needed for commercial/industrial use, also. The green tanks is the same but more evaporated ( larger volume) and costs more. Gas conmpnaies all over the country have those tanks but seldom being able to sell oxygen that way anymore.. They do not evaporate easily as the liquid does gradually and has @ a five year expiration date on filled green tanks.
The good news is I can get by with three green tanks a day and was able to get 8 hours sleep which hasn't happened for months and lab work showed it. So far the liquid tank has lasted that long, too.
Our HEALTH CARE SYTEM IS HARMING Patients as being carried out for way too many and yet the money for it seems to be flowing everywhere but for direct care and those who provide it. Congress is now beginning to talk about some real Hearings to make changes. No matter what the health plan is, the care has to make modern medical sense and the toxic and chemical industries and their insurance liability companies have to be 'quarantined' from getting laws and medical treatments sidetracked just to 'cover up' how their products can do terrible physical harm when mishaps occur. Too often prudent caution for human life policies have been ignored to cause the harm being 'covered up.' What often results is the rare patient with millions of dollars in punitive damages awarded for these horrible unethical and immoral tactics while most die way too soon as proper medical care is obstructed and doctors squeezed unmercifully in trying to provide the best, most modern care which permits longer and better lives from such injuries.
WHERES OUR MONEY? We have given agencies billions of dollars to see products they are to 'regulate' etc., don't cause harm, but the rules get neglected and money pressures seem to promote laxness that causes injuries and deaths before ones time.
'Everywhere' we are getting poisoned and injured while greed seems to have taken over and toxins and chemicals are hidden even from food labels. Then when a major diastrous event occurs as happened at my job; major cover-ups get even worse.
HEALTH !When I'm asked about Global Warming I answer I'm not a scientist and only know weather has patterns anyway BUT all living things do better when the air and products we consume are "clean" ARE HEALTHY! So wouldn't the physical earth be'healthier' if the air is 'clean?' The extra expense to use 'clean' techiques in industry, etc., would cerainly pay off in reduced health care costs. We are one whole on planet EARTH not isolated bits. Pray for or elected leaders to put the separated 'pieces' baack into one whole for better health for all.
