A few years ago, Dinah's story was made into a tv movie series on USA channel. called "The Red Tent." A tragic love story, for sure. How much liberty was taken with facts and historical truth is unknown, but the Bible does not share all, even down into Egypt where all ended up before the end of the tale. It did capture the tragedy of a culture clash, for sure and a wicked influence in the world where one can just go do as they please and not consider all the others affected by what took place.
But when one is of high birth like a Prince of a people, or just another humble one of the people; one still has to go through some protocols of respect, even in modern times. After all, into a wicked world, came one family and line to be blessed with some basic principles we later know as codified in the 10 Commandments.
And when there is a family of 11 sons, and one sister, there is a lot of protocols to be met as a matter of respect.
The tragedy gets compounded into worse and worse and trickery and ends up in a tragic love story for sure.
Even in our own times, it's a matter of respect for a couple's love to let parents be aware of the wish to be married even if our laws do not require adults to ask permission to marry ..
Back in 1963, when Doyle, and I decided we wished to be married, somehow, we knew the formality of his going to let myDad know we wished to get married, needed to be done.. And was, I had already been given an engagement ring, but somehow the underlying respect of two marrying into each other's family was a respect that is underlying. principle. of a formal declaration first of some kind.. My dad, responded to me, that my first loyalty was going to be to Doyle now, and some old-fashioned concepts that seem never to be set aside over time..
Marriage is a blending of extended families and a whole lot of other issues, may need to be resolved for a couple just starting out to not have to deal with.. Seems outdated in our times, but it's a matter of honor and respect for each other. And a clash with culture can cause all kinds of issues as it did for Jacob and his sons...
What part did this tragedy in the Divine Plan of matters seem to end with the removal of one king of Shechem pretty well ended and no more intermarriage of tween Jacob's offspring and this local tribal king? We know by hindsight, how all kinds of things proceed in this world to where we are today.

In the name of Yahusha, save us from all the intrigues, and detours we of humanity have taken to get to these end times and the salvation of each of us....to make it through for eternal life with You.
Prayers for healing and keeping immunity up for the second phase of infections...And prayers for all others in these times, with our health care in shambles for 33 years when we took a deadly turn in policy and may all wake up and realize life is precious and we have to follow the best for life to be for one and all of us..and the truth is being elusive for a long, long time in matters
Save us from info being shared around some kind of martial law being declared here and around the world, and some horrific violations of human rights, which make no logical sense of matters.. What is truth, that is not being shared, and maybe it's past time for TRUTH TO BE REVEALED...so we know all, and can deal with it the best we can..if it's really so horrific for whatever reason...
Who is running this world, seems to become clear, it's not our governments as they were contracted out decades ago with no oversight by law in 12/02 in USA? and this seems to be an insane world of lawlessness none can even have a chance to survive with no respect for our laws, or rights and just common caring for each other as You taught us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS HE LOVES US.
May all understand our souls belong to You and not some other entity that is one of death and destruction. In Your Holy Name, Yahusha, Amen!
