DAILY RECAP 9/2/14; WHO'S 'COMMON CORE/' EDUCATION FOR THE NEW ERA; PRESIDENT OBAMA BORN IN TOPEKA KS.

Robert Reich: College Is a Waste for Millions of Kids -- There's a Better Way | Alternet     This is a link to an article that discusses part of the issues of raising our children to  take charge of the future.

When I first heard the term "common core' I immediately thought in terms of subjects one should study and all those college catalogues one read saying one should take these certain subjects to be prepared for college. I had no idea that what was going to be taught was social engineering and rewiring of young brains into persons who would not have the confidence to know anything for sure.

There is a place in this word to know the 8x8=64 and  have no doubts about it.  Part of the 'social engineering that has always gone on and used to be called 'morals being taught' is to have self confidence in ones own ability but not to the point of arrogance.

Yahusha whom we Christians call Christ Jesus taught some of the broader philosophies  and one of these was to teach against 'arrogance' something He often lambasted the religious leaders of the day for their arrogance and hypocrisy as people laid homeless begging in the streets when the Mosaic law provided for shelter for homeless and a food for work  program that got interrupted as the Roman soldiers  took over the ' rooms in the city walls' for the poor and arrogance and greed meant every piece of grain was sold and no extra rows and clumps left for the poor to glean food from.

Its inherent in us to care for one another as it is a refection of us caring for our selves and having the self confidence that one knows for themselves that certain things are right and good.

So, I  have been shocked and dismayed at some of the info  out as to what is in COMMON CORE"  and its not saying one should have certain subjects studied before one graduates from High school. Its why voting in all elections is so important and why states and local govts have been given the rights under our US Constitution to be more involved in educational matters at the local levels as long as ALL are able to receive the education at a equal level.

Former Sec Reich is partly right. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM THAT DOES NOT PREPARE ONE GRADUATING FROM HS FROM BEING ABLE TO HAVE A SKILL IN  AN AREA OF INTEREST TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES, EVEN IF THEY ARE GOING ON TO  STUDY IN COLLEGE OR GRADUATE SCHOOL FOR A MORE ADVANCED JOB IN THE AREA OF INTEREST. And all should have the basic skills, just for life in the new era. when learning is always going to go on;  Online if not elsewhere.

Once upon a time, testing was not Affiliated computer services basic skills tests, but would  also test for ones interests, too as well as aptitude tests.  And if one is interested in mechanics, the first job might be auto  repair but that  could be the job one knows how to support themselves ass they go on to get a degree in engineering  for example

CHILDREN GET HELD BACK TOO OFTEN IN AREAS OF INTEREST.

Like most, I did better in some subjects than others. And in some areas, could  have entered college years before I did at age 18 after graduating from HS. There has been some attempts to speed this up but often its for those in science and math rather than all the other  areas.

I am not an educator, but have observed some things an done is more cooperation  between community colleges and high schools. Some could be studying  some  at college level at the same time they are still studying some subjects at the high school level. and  maybe HS should be 6 years with one leaving with an associates degree in some area.   College might end up being more of an apprentice type learning process along with courses and DO NOT FORGET ONLINE Study. Each student should be able to progress as they can in each and every field. maybe the whole concept of 4 years of HS and 4 years of college then graduate school of 1 to + years might end up with a level of expertise being met instead.

Its for those more knowledgeable than I to figure out, I can only glean from my own personal experience and as a parent, etc. As the disconnect between what is needed to know for the future is not being occurring and too many of our youth are falling through the cracks or ending up with diplomas that have not prepared themselves for a place in the world they can be happy about and support themselves and their families.

I AM ALL FOR SOME BASIC SUBJECTS OF STUDY HAVE TO OCCUR BEFORE OUR CHILDREN ARE SENT OUT IN TO THE WORLD AT AGE 18.  But we need to do better to send them out prepared to step into the work place, at age 18 and be able to make a living   no matter if its to be in the field they continue to study in for a more advanced job, or that be their life time work.

That also means that business and institutions  of medicine and govt, etc. be open to having students in an apprenticeship positions while still studying. Its part of caring for one another for all of us to be part of the education of the youth whom we will turn this world over to in a few years and if we have done our parts, they will be prepared to do  the jobs of the future as well or better than we have done.

NEW MISINFORMATION THAT CAN TURN DEADLY

It has been learned that in those online medical records, I got listed as having sleep apnea, and have never been diagnosed with that.  No wonder so many patients are becoming victims of medical errors especially in emergency rooms.   How in the world, can all this get corrected so one does not end up injured or dead and the busy doctor in trouble because they relied on something that should and could have been accurate and isn't . as there is no way to get errors corrected.

And the govt keeps throwing money at the computer programmers in the military industrial complex to take care of the health care systems and other programs and the money is getting wasted as systems crash  rather than making sure the errors in all these individual systems are corrected first so that everything will 'COMPUTE.'  One medical source can't say one I has sleep apnea and all the other doctors say no on the same questionnaire that is being used for all, now. and think the system is going to understand  it all. 2+2 = 4 NOT 6 AND NOT 7 OR MORE.  CRASH  IT GOES AND MORE MILLIONS DISAPPEARED.

This must have been on there for some time, as a doctor asked my husband over a year to say if I had it as he wisely said he always asked the partner of the patient as they would know. And he said no  as I do not wake up once I get to sleep.

Common sense is much cheaper. but where is it to fit into the NEW ERA?  when Common Core is  trying to teach that one can get from point A to point B by going around the world and sideways  rather than a  straight line anymore. as phone calls got switched to Europe and back in some 'crossed wires' a few months back with our long distance  phone carrier when I was trying to call in state and by car it was only 80 miles down  the highway that did not zig and zag around the world first to get their. Both kinds of knowledge have a purpose, but :common sense: needs to rule out and be taught that the straight path is better if it can be used.
