I didn't get a precap done today. The scripture was Psalm 65: I love this one as it holds so much promise to us from Our Creator.  verse 2 "..all flesh will come.."
Salvation is open to all.  just as justice for is for all . It can't be for one and not for all as that in itself cries out that is injustice for some to have rights and otters not.  verse 5 "... Oh God ( Yahuah, Yahusha ,Ruah whom Christians call Christ Jesus) of our salvation."

                                                 69 cold cases or 72?
Philip Anderson of the Topeka Capital Journal wrote an article about a month ago about a new show in NE Kansas where cold cases are highlighted. He's the reporter I first spoke to over a year ago and his editor would not let him look into three cold murder cases from 3/61 and help me get access to the newspaper article from 62 when the bodies washed up on a sand bar and one had a rope around his neck in the racial attack on the parents of the president and he unborn. That's the 99% sure Dad of the president.
Obama Sr was a cultural 'adoption' in 6/61 when he married Stanley Ann at McVicar Chapel on Washburn univeritisy campus with members of the Black sorority in attendance and my Dad married them. Then he was born at Forbes Air Force base hospital in 8/61 and my mother was present as she took Ann to the hospital. she was 15.
I have no idea if these three were ever listed as murders. The way things were handled is why  we have civil rights laws in this country. In our day we still have things said and done towards minorities. But to cover up murder and  malicious harassment  this  interracial couple  endured and  no legal authority willing to intervene at all is unconscionable. ITS THE WAY THINGS WERE. AND ITS GETTING THAT WAY AGAIN to ignore the injustices currently going on. Its like we have gotten immune to knowing what our consciences says is wrong. . We lose our humanity, when we no longer care.
Thanks to Carmen for bringing this to my attention. For some reason the Shawnee county sheriff seemed to have jurisdiction, and not the Topeka Police dept. so is that 69 cold cases in Topeka city limits or Shawnee county?  The article says 69 unsolved murders since 1954, the year Fred Phelps moved to Topeka Ks? The year of  Brown vs Board of Education of Topeka? and those who did not want integration decided to take actions  of various kinds.
There is a file, or was at one time. pretty sure it should be in the city limits now. Ann had said they were sitting on the Bank on the soldier township? creek? And I understood that was on the other side of the riverbank from Topeka Ks.   It was the Shawnee county sheriff that came and got my Dad from work when the bodies washed up and some kind of investigation would have to occur. I don;t know if he talked to the families of the three dead or not. They came to him for information, that should have been gotten back in 3/61. Back when they would not listen to the eye witness. why is we eye witnesses are shunned so badly?
I linked the article on blogger.com just ahead of this. I  remember the Daphne Rhodes case, And am surprised it was never solved.  media attention was on it and not the three bodies in a heinous racist attack.back at the time.  Mr Anderson gets a copy of my Daily Recap.
I have a personal opinion about many murders in this world. Other than  those which are crimes of passion where someone who knows someone gets out of control, etc.. I do think there are few real murderers among us. Most humans just aren't made to kill each other. That means a few among us commit most of the heinous murders.
I don't know who did it, but I do know it was the end result of months of intense malicious harassment egged on by Fred Phelps from westboro baptist and am so thankful for Carmen who heard back from one of the Phelps children who has left the family who confirmed that Fred Phelps did have guardianship of a lot of kids. But most did not live there and they would show up to get money.
My family had always understood they were relatives of Ann's mother "Tut'.
Topeka KS schools had a nationwide reputation for excellence at the time. Topic HS had been rated as one of the top 5 highschools in the nation according to a well known rating service.
So many wanted to go there. since it was a public Hs all one needed to have was residency in the city of Topeka Ks.  As long as one had a guardian  in the city, one was able to go to Topeka HS.
Its how Doyle, my husband, went from Neosho Rapids HS with about 50 students and transferred to Topeka HS his junior year and graduated with me in 1963. His sister lived in Topeka Ks and she had signed for him as she had signed for another of his sisters a couple of years earlier.
Often these students were on their own , working to support themselves and not living with the gdns. Doyle was one of them. He had come to Topeka Ks and worked in the Summers of60 and '61 and then stayed in '61 and worked at Poor Richards Cafe and that's where he learned to be a more gourmet style cook as he not only washed dishes but helped the chef prepare the food. at one time it ws 'the place' to eat. and he later opened a night club and Doyle worked there some. .
Its why Doyle does not have many activities listed in the yearbook although he had many in previous school years. . Often these students gave up the extracurriculars as they were working instead to support themselves.
So for Ann to be on her own at age 14, having to get a job, was not unusual in Topeka, Ks at the time.
What was unusual was for Fred Phelps to refuse to sign for her to start Topeka Hs  and my parents had to threaten court action to get the gdnshp signed over to my mother who immediately went and enrolled her at Topeka Hs in 4/61 and I was present in the office at Topeka HS  when it occurred.
I can never forget the sickening racist sermon  by fred Phelps that Easter sunday morning and then to see in the church the leader of the 'mob' of  teenage girls that had turned on me at the District Music  Festival because I not only would not go along with the harassment of the boy friend but I tried to intervene to stop it which  only enraged them more.
Its why, now in hindsight. it seems  there was some kind of 'mind control' training going on  with this bunch and maybe the end result was to cause a race riot in Topeka Ks. Took until 7'1 in Lawrence to finally get one going for a year?. Topeka Ks was to have been   like that and it did not occur? What did happen is they let some build a separate HS , Topeka West and it opened in '62 with one black and 400 whites as an 'integrated' school
What happened back on 3'17/61 was horrible for me to have had to endure and I only got a sample of what the presidents' parents had gone  through for months over 6 months  I spoke to the teachers present after they had turned on me and they said they couldn't do anything- they always did it off school property.  My  Dad, who was campus security had that day off, and it was all over in a few minutes as the Boys Glee club went in to sing. . They were harassing him trying to make him leave and not sing and he responded Mr Elbert Fly our teacher, had called him to  make sure he came.  He showed up to sing with the Boys Glee club. They  had almost 'drummed' him  clear out of attending school and did cause  the  school to take him off the football team # 64. when he was a star player and the only thing i ever heard he did was have a girl friend of another race.  Only his left arm is in the yearbook picture for Fall of '60 as he was written out of history of the a school and the city. But his son became president?
The harassment started long before there was any pregnancy.  They had sat down on the river bank to plan for the up coming baby and make their choices for the future. They never had the chance. He gave up his life to save her so he she could get away and go for help. Its why I think the Turner young man, was someone who came to help.My source is my mother who was told all this by Ann.
Mom wasn't talking at all and Dad assumed I was being kept in the loop on things and the whole few months were very bizarre for me as well as more traumatic than I have ever realized until I got into this.
We think these things that happen in our lives and society do not affect  us and they do. In the Bible the first murder story says the blood cries out from the  ground. It does, for taking the life of another is not what we are to be doing. Its the oppsoite of love and caring for one another.
And its why we have a president who apparently was never told of his origins and I know he was not to be told at age 9 in 1/71 when Tut, his  maternal grandmother, stopped me form saying anything to him. Apparently, as an adult, he was left not knowing where to find his legal papers and that was very wrong.
Its one of the many tragedies that happens when people start living a lie. And this has been going on in my extended female on my Dad's side for almost a hundred years and  needs to end.  And it got worse  in 1944 Daniel Wayne Pope, my first cousin took the id of Stanley armour Dunham and went to WWII and served in military until retirement. And in some hush hush type things. He became isolated from his  fmaily and Ann's own great grandparents had only seen Ann once as  a baby as Tut just would not permit it. They never got a thank you card or acknowledgement from her for gifts and cards sent either is what Aunt Helen said, 11/63. Its why , when Ann was in trouble in Topeka ks after the horrible decision to send her to Fred Phelps by her mother as Dad was out of the country as he seemed to be much of the time, Ann had no idea where to find any family and I had met her as Ann Dunhan but no idea she was my second cousin. She had all kinds of relatives willing to help,if they had been allowed to help. It took the KS authorities to straighten out the identify of her Dad by contacting the real Stanley Dunham. And I pray the originally investigative file is still intact as all this info is in it. and I have never heard back from the Justice dept to see if this could be opened as a racial hate crime which it definitely was.
Injustice affects everyone and when murderers to go free with no investigating done, then we all suffer as too often it means that those who would do horrible things, think they can do then and no one will hold them accountable in any way.
IF ANY ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE CALL CRIME STOPPERS AND GIVE YOUR INFORMATION. EVEN THE SMALLEST PIECE OF INFO IS OFTEN HELPFUL. IT MAY BE A PIECE OF INFO THAT'S MISSING FROM THE WHOLE OF WHAT 'S KNOWN!
